Chesterfield have brought in Huddersfield Town teenager Jack Hunt on loan until January after he impressed on trial.
Hunt, who can play at right-back or in midfield, has featured in three pre-season friendlies for Chesterfield and has now secured a move to John Sheridan's side.
The 19-year-old signed his first professional contract earlier this year and Huddersfield boss Lee Clark feels Hunt will benefit from the move.
"Getting the young professionals out on loan is something I've always wanted to do, they need to be out playing at a good level where winning matters," Clark told the club's official website.
"Jack has a lot of good attributes; he's quick and he's a good athlete.
"He knows we think we can improve his defensive side and that will come along with the responsibility he will have at Chesterfield.
"I know the people there and I know he will receive good coaching and be treated in the right way. They have a fantastic new stadium too."
