Rangers manager Walter Smith has confirmed the club's interest in South African duo Bongani Khumalo and Katlego Mphela.
Khumalo, 23, is a central defender while Mphela is a striker for Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa's Premier Soccer League.
The pair both featured in this summer's World Cup finals and Khumalo scored the first goal for his country in a 2-1 win over France.
Tottenham have reportedly invited Khumalo for a trial while Birmingham City are believed to be interested in striker Mphela.
Smith has seen his squad decimated this summer due to financial restrictions but is ready to spend around £2million on the duo.
"We are seriously considering both these players," Smith told the Scottish Sun. "I believe they could fit in well for us.
"Contact has been made, but we'll need to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks."
