Ronaldinho's brother and agent Roberto de Assis has welcomed AC Milan's desire to keep hold of the player and reiterated plans to open contract discussions.
The playmaker's future at San Siro has been the subject of conjecture this summer, with a return to his homeland mooted, but manager Massimiliano Allegri quashed any speculation by praising the Brazilian star.
However, Milan have recently confirmed their intention to retain his services, with a contract extension now seemingly on the cards.
De Assis told Corriere dello Sport: "The words of president Silvio Berlusconi have given us a great pleasure.
"The bond that has been created with the Milan is beautiful and will continue. Our desire is the same of Berlusconi.
"I will see soon (the Milan CEO) Adriano Galliani to discuss the contract. I don't expect any major problems, but in any event, there is no hurry to sign."
De Assis also shrugged of speculation linking Ronaldinho with a switch to LA Galaxy.
He added: "Interest from LA Galaxy? My brother is a Milan player, where he contracted for another year.
"Any other club involved must speak with the Rossoneri, not with us."
