Wycombe have bolstered their defensive options by recruiting Alan Bennett from Brentford.
Bennett spent two months on loan at Gary Waddock's side last season from the London club and the manager has moved to capture the stopper on a permanent basis.
The 28-year-old captained the Bees to the League Two title in 2009 and had a deal that would keep him at Griffin Park until June 2011.
But Andy Scott has allowed the former Reading man to link up with the Chairboys to become their eighth signing of the summer.
And Waddock was delighted to have completed a move for the Republic of Ireland international.
He told the club's official website: "We've been looking for a centre-back after Hinsh (Adam Hinshelwood) retired and Benno fits the bill perfectly.
"We know about him, and what he will bring to the group. I'm looking forward to working with him again."
