Franck Ribery is hoping to put issues in his private life to one side and focus on rediscovering his form.
The Bayern Munich and France winger is currently under judicial investigation in his homeland on suspicion of soliciting sex with an underage prostitute.
That matter is an unwelcome distraction for the 27-year-old, who struggled with injuries last season and disappointed at the 2010 World Cup.
Ribery admits he is suffering a low point in his career, but hopes he will be given the time and space to turn things around on the field.
He told BILD: "There are moments in life that are stressful and depressing. That moment is certainly now.
"I must survive this low point. This is not easy for me. I am very much in the public eye and I must live with that. It is not always easy for me to manage that pressure.
"I hope that the discussions about my personal problems and my injuries will soon come to an end.
"I am confident that I can regain the confidence of the people who are doubting me now. I want to give them happiness again.
"I want to show them great dribbling skills, a positive feeling and score goals. Just like before.
"The most important thing for me is football. I want to enjoy it and concentrate on that."
Although Bayern secured a domestic double in 2009/10 and reached the final of the UEFA Champions League, Ribery's season was marred by a succession of niggling knocks which limited his involvement.
He added: "It is true that I had a difficult year. Largely because of injury.
"But I am working extremely hard to come back again, to find my top form.
"To win the Champions League is my big goal. I'm still sad that I missed the game with Inter.
"I am very motivated for the new season."
