Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is hopeful that Edin Dzeko will join the club this summer after the striker expressed his desire to leave Wolfsburg.
Buffon is a huge fan of the forward and is sure that the Old Lady can beat off stiff competition from Manchester City to sign Dzeko.
Both clubs are keen to acquire the services of the 24-year-old Bosnia-Herzegovina forward, who is keen to part company with Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg this summer.
Buffon told Tuttosport: "Dzeko is a player that needs no introduction.
"For the past two or three years he has been among the best four or five strikers in Europe.
"He would be a great signing."
Dzeko was the Bundesliga's top scorer last season with 22 goals and is under contract at the Volkswagen Arena until June 2013.
