Spurs ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over the Cherries, but Redknapp arguably took the most pride from seeing the veteran Italian keeper complete the first half of the match.

It was Cudicini's first action since a motorbike accident in November when he suffered pelvic and wrist injuries.

The 36-year-old former Chelsea shot-stopper had just one serious save to make, with Redknapp admitting that he had spent the summer building up his fitness.

"I'm so pleased he has recovered, absolutely delighted," Redknapp told the club's official website.

"It is great to have him back and available. He looked good and that's great news for him and for us. He is ready to go.

"He is a great professional, a terrific goalkeeper and a top guy. He has done fantastic to recover after that horrific accident.

"He has just got on with it and worked his socks off to get fit again. We all knew he faced a struggle to get fit but he has worked hard with Tony Parks every day all through the summer and he feels good."
