Aberdeen are set to hold contract talks with Evan Horwood after taking the former Carlisle United defender on trial.
Horwood was not offered a new contract by Carlisle at the end of last season and had been training with Hartlepool United.
He was due to fly out on their pre-season tour of Holland on Sunday, but the left-back has accepted Aberdeen's trial invitation instead.
The former Sheffield United youngster linked up with the Dons on Friday and reports claim he will discuss a deal with Mark McGhee.
Dons boss McGhee is searching for a replacement for Charlie Mulgrew following his move to Celtic and Horwood could fit the bill.
Horwood joins former West Ham youth team midfielder Conor Okus on trial at Pittodrie, but former Leeds goalkeeper Ryan Jones has returned to England.
