Bristol City midfielder Paul Hartley has refused to rule out a possible return to former club Hearts.
Hartley had been linked with a move to Hearts after reports in the Scottish press last month suggested the 33-year-old had been transfer-listed.
City moved quickly to dispel the rumours, but Hartley's future at Ashton Gate remains the subject of speculation.
Scotland international Hartley admits he would consider a return to Scotland if Hearts came calling for him.
"I would never say never. I had a great time at Hearts and I know Jim Jefferies well, having spoken to him over the years," Hartley told the Bristol Evening Post.
"I have another year left on my contract here, but I've always wanted to come back up the road, to be fair. I'll just wait and see what happens."
