Huddersfield Town striker Lee Novak has agreed a one-year contract extension to stay at the Galpharm Stadium until 2013.
Novak initially signed for the Terriers from Gateshead in January 2009 and eventually became part of Lee Clark's squad last summer.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive debut season with the club, scoring 14 goals in 45 appearances, and Clark believes Novak fully deserves his extension.
Town boss Clark said: "Lee's contract extension is massive for the club and just rewards for him for the excellent work he put in last season.
"Obviously we brought Lee in from non-league football and it might have been seen as a gamble as we didn't know how he would adapt, but he probably did better than he could have hoped for; to play so many games in his first season at this level was brilliant and every time he played he deserved his place in the team.
"He's become a crowd favourite because of his work ethic and I think the club have shown that if players come in and do the business they will be rewarded in terms of extensions to their contract."
