Skysports.com understands that Ipswich are battling with Blackpool to sign DJ Campbell.
The Leicester striker spent the end of last season on loan at Bloomfield Road and helped the Seasiders earn promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
He has previously spoken of his wish to secure a dream move to Blackpool and play in the top flight, saying that he hoped Leicester would not stand in his way.
Campbell had fallen out of favour with the Foxes prior to his loan switch to Blackpool and is still expected to leave the Walkers Stadium despite Nigel Pearson's departure as manager.
Blackpool will therefore hope to strike a deal to bring back the 28-year-old following his successful spell there last term.
However, Ipswich are also believed to be considering a move for Campbell as Roy Keane looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
