Germany head coach Joachim Low says forward Cacau is unlikely to recover from injury for their quarter-final against Argentina.
The Brazil-born striker is still recovering from the right thigh injury that forced him to sit out Sunday's 4-1 second round win over England.
Low has confirmed Cacau will not train with the team on Wednesday and although he will undertake a a fitness test before Saturday's match he remains 'very questionable'.
In-form Germany will uncharacteristically fly to Cape Town two days before the match and not as usual one day before.
Low says the team wants to 'train in tranquillity' in Cape Town on Friday.
