Boro boss looking forward to working with new signing

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan cannot wait to start working with Nicky Bailey. The Charlton captain is set to finalise his £1.4million move to The Riverside later this week after passing a medical on Monday. Strachan confirmed Bailey has passed all the tests and he is looking forward to seeing him in action. "Nicky was here and has had his medical and that's all fine, so he should be signing for us soon," said Strachan. "That's great because he's got something we've needed for a long time. He's got drive, determination and motivation and he can score goals." Strachan is still hoping to finalise other deals this week with a move for Celtic's Stephen McManus seemingly top of his list of priorities. And the Scot is hoping progress will soon be made, although he has called for a level of patience from supporters. He added: "Every club is trying to get the best deal for themselves so there's not much happening at the moment. "I know we can't do everything at the same time because there's only a certain amount of money in the bank."
