Millwall are hoping they can lure Arsenal starlet Jay Simpson back to the club next season.
Simpson linked up with the Lions for a season in 2007-08 in an attempt to gain first team experience and has since gone on to the feature for West Brom and Queens Park Rangers.
The 21-year-old has now returned to the Gunners but reports have suggested manager Arsene Wenger is prepared to part ways with the striker.
And Millwall - promoted to the Championship via the League One play-offs last season - are keen on recruiting the Enfield-born star for another spell at the New Den.
Chief executive Andy Ambler told Southwark News: "He was here before and everybody knows we admire him and he knows this club and we are just keeping tracks on it.
"Simpson is one of the players we are looking at. But quite frankly I don't expect us to move forward until next Thursday when everyone is back in training."
