Defender Darren Jones is set to sign for Aldershot after rejecting a new contract offer at Hereford.
A new and improved deal was on the table at Edgar Street after the 26-year-old enjoyed a successful debut campaign with the Bulls.
Jones made 43 appearances last term following his arrival from non-league Forest Green last summer.
Earlier this month, the Welshman had said: "I'm happy to sign a deal as long as it's right for me and my family".
But despite lengthy negotiations over another one-year deal, Hereford chairman David Keyte has revealed that Jones has opted to switch to League Two rivals Aldershot, who were beaten in the play-off semi-finals by Rotherham.
"I think we made a very good offer, a very fair one, but Darren has decided to leave," Keyte told the club's official website.
"We wish him the very best of luck for the future."
Jones began his career at Bristol City and had loan spells with Forest Green and Cheltenham before joining hometown club Newport County in 2004 while returning to Forest Green in 2006.
