Stuttgart and Cameroon midfielder Georges Mandjeck is looking forward to the prospect of playing in France amid reports he is set to sign a four-year deal with Rennes.
The 21-year-old was on loan at Kaiserslautern in the last domestic season after previously taking in a spell with the German club in 2008.
But Mandjeck, who is part of the Cameroon squad at this summer's World Cup, has decided that he does not want to return to Kaiserslautern and he has turned his attention to France.
He is excited by the prospect of playing in Ligue 1, however, his immediate focus is on helping Cameroon qualify from World Cup Group E after their limp opening defeat to Japan.
Mandjeck said: "I am delighted to go and play in the French league.
"I played last season with Kaiserslautern, but I decided not to prolong my career in Germany. In France I will have a better opportunity to do well in my career.
"However, I have not signed anything yet and I am concentrating on having a good World Cup and helping my country to qualify for the second round."
