Italy are unsure when goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon will be fit to play again after suffering a back injury.
The star shot-stopper was forced off the field during the world champions' 1-1 draw with Paraguay at half-time with what was diagnosed as a sciatic nerve problem.
The 32-year-old Juventus stalwart suggested after Monday's Cape Town clash he might be able to return to training on Thursday, meaning he could be available for Sunday's second Group F game against New Zealand.
But the Italians have yet to confirm when Buffon, who has suffered an injury-hit two years, will be able to return to the fray.
"Buffon has a strong sciatic problem. It is impossible to estimate when he might return," an Italy statement said.
