Palermo sporting director Walter Sabatini has intimated that Fabrizio Miccoli could be tempted by a move to Birmingham City.
The Premier League club have been linked with an approach for the attacker, although Palermo have stressed he is not for sale.
However, Sabatini has suggested he will speak with Miccoli to determine whether the 30-year-old sees his future at Stadio Renzo Barbera or elsewhere.
He told TGS: "Is Miccoli considering Birmingham's offer? It is normal that a player has some doubts when an offer is received.
"Palermo do not want to sell the player. We will evaluate everything soon.
"Miccoli is essential for us, and it is important that we do not lose him.
"But it is equally important that everyone is happy."
Sabatini also refused to rule out an approach for West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami, whose agent has stated the Swiss is likely to remain at Upton Park.
"Behrami? There is a half truth, although there are many players linked with Palermo," said Sabatini.
The Palermo sporting director was lastly drawn on interest in Edinson Cavani, claiming Wolfsburg have submitted an offer.
He said: "The chairman (Maurizio) Zamparini spoke with Wolfsburg, who submitted a bid but they are not the only one. There are many clubs interested in Cavani."
