Steve Phillips is expecting to sign a permanent contract at Crewe Alexandra following his departure from Bristol Rovers.
The goalkeeper spent a large chunk of last season on loan at Crewe and is likely to return to Gresty Road after his contract at Rovers expired.
He has had two operations on his shoulder and hopes to commit himself to the Railwaymen when he returns from holiday.
Phillips told the club's official website: "I've not thought about it (a new contract) because I've been pre-occupied with getting these two operations out of the way, but I'm happy here and I'm sure it will all be sorted out when I get back."
The 32-year-old added: "I've had the surgery now and will go on holiday with the family and have a break. I can't do too much at the moment.
"I've been a professional for a long time and have never had that many injuries. I've certainly never needed an operation before, but I think this is just wear and tear of playing in goal for all these years."
