Peter Odemwingie insists Nigeria's players are willing to accept being on the bench, despite acknowledging his frustration at not starting against Argentina.
Nigeria opened their World Cup campaign with a 1-0 defeat by Argentina on Saturday and Odemwingie was among those to start as a substitute.
The Lokomotiv Moscow forward had been expected to be in Lars Lagerback's line-up at Ellis Park, but was overlooked in favour of Chinedu Obasi.
Odemwingie looked lively off the bench in the second half, although a poor touch meant he wasted a good opportunity to advance on goal.
Asked if it was frustrating to miss out on a start against Diego Maradona's men, he said: "Yes of course, it was a big game - one of the biggest games in someone's career.
"I was very disappointed, but we are a team, some of us are not going to start.
"There are 23 (players) here, you just have to accept it, not show your emotions and be professional about it. That's just the way it is."
