Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell is hoping to win the race to sign Aberdeen defender Charlie Mulgrew.
The 24-year-old's contract at Aberdeen is due to expire and he has held talks regarding an extension with the SPL club.
However, the former Celtic youngster has been tipped to move to England and reports claim he has already agreed a three-year deal with the Blades.
Blackwell is trying to finalise a move for the full-back, but confirmed there are other clubs showing an interest in Mulgrew.
"He is a player we are interested in, but it is at a delicate stage," said Blackwell in the Press and Journal.
"He has been on our radar for a while, although his agent is talking to other clubs."
