Leicester City have snatched Tom Kennedy from under Doncaster's noses, skysports.com understands.
Kennedy has officially turned down the chance to extend his stay at promoted Rochdale, informing them he would be leaving Spotland.
A host of Championship clubs showed an interest in the 24-year-old defender, and Doncaster looked to have won the race to land him.
Kennedy was set to sign a contract with Rovers until a last-ditch intervention from Leicester boss Nigel Pearson.
The Foxes chief is a huge fan of the left-sided star and he has now persuaded Kennedy his future lies at the Walkers Stadium.
Kennedy has now sealed a pre-contract with Leicester and will officially join them on 1st July.
