Peterborough United have confirmed defender Craig Morgan wants to leave the club in order to 'move back up north'.
Wales international Morgan has 12 months remaining on his contract at London Road and was the subject of interest from Preston North End last month.
Posh manager Gary Johnson is keen to keep hold of the 24-year-old, but director of football Barry Fry revealed Morgan's wish to secure a transfer.
Fry told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "Gary Johnson wants to keep Craig, but he doesn't think he will be able to so he's started looking for another centre-half.
"Craig has told the club that he wants to move back up north for family reasons.
"Preston did show an interest once before, but stopped short of making a bid, but they have changed chairmen since then so we will wait and see on that one."
