Lyon are close to signing Rennes striker Jimmy Briand, the club's president has revealed.
Briand has been constantly linked with a move away from Rennes and Lyon look to have won the race for his signature.
The 24-year-old will help fill the void left by Sidney Govou's departure from the Stade Gerland after seeing out his contract at the club.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas claims Briand will sign next week once he undergoes a medical.
"We can say without reservation that Jimmy Briand is coming to Lyon on June 15 to pass the medical examination," said Aulas.
"We have already reached agreement with him. There are just some details to sort with Rennes.
"We have wanted to sign him for four years."
