Lazio president Claudio Lotito has insisted there is no chance of Real Madrid prising Aleksandar Kolarov away from the club, saying his boots would not even be for sale at 15million euros.
The Serbian defender has been linked with a number of top European sides after catching the eye with his performances in Serie A over the past couple of seasons.
Manchester City have previously been credited with an interest but reports in Spain now suggest Real are leading the chase.
However, Lotito insists there has been no contact as yet, while he has no intention of letting a player he regards as the finest left-back on the planet leave for any price.
"15million euros for Kolarov? I won't even sell his boots for that price," Lotito is quoted as telling the press in La Repubblica.
"He is not for sale, and we have not received any offers.
"He is probably the best in the world in his position, and we don't need to sell him."
