Striker Daniel Bogdanovic has agreed to join Sheffield United when his Barnsley contract expires on 30th June.
The 30-year-old Malta international netted 11 goals in 29 Championship appearances for the Tykes last season, but departs Oakwell on a free transfer.
He makes the short trip across South Yorkshire to the Blades, as they look to push for promotion next term.
"I am coming here for footballing reasons," he said.
"I am not financially driven and I had better offers from other clubs but I chose United ahead of those clubs because of their potential and ambition.
"I am really looking forward with anticipation to the forthcoming season."
Bogdanovic becomes United's first signing of the summer, and his arrival comes on the back of new deals for Chris Morgan and Nick Montgomery.
