Australia manager Pim Verbeek has finally named his final 23-man squad for the World Cup finals.
The Socceroos coach had to inform five players that they would not be involved including injured Middlesbrough defender Rhys Williams.
The 21-year-old made 31 starts for the Championship side this season, often playing through the pain barrier, but will return to Teesside after finally losing his long-term battle with a pelvic problem.
The other four players to be culled were Shane Lowry (Aston Villa), Tommy Oar (FC Utrecht), James Holland (AZ Alkmaar) and Eugene Galekovic (Adelaide United).
However, the quartet have been invited to stay with the rest of the squad for the remainder of the World Cup.
