Billy Sharp is planning on holding talks with Sheffield United after a bid from Doncaster Rovers was rejected.
The 24-year-old striker spent virtually the whole of last season on loan to Rovers and impressed with 15 league goals.
Doncaster were keen to retain the his services and made an offer to United, but their approach was rejected.
Sharp remains non-committal on his future and insists he has heard nothing from newly-promoted Leeds, who have been linked with a move.
"I've just got back from my holiday, but I've heard Donny's offer was turned down," explained Sharp.
"I'll speak to Sheffield United and we'll take it from there. I know they wanted a bit more than was offered, but until I've spoken to them I'm not certain what is happening.
"I spoke to the chairman at Doncaster and he told me he would do his best to get me there.
"I've not heard anything from Leeds. I heard about the rumours linking me with them in January but I wanted to stay at Doncaster and finish what I had started. But now I'm not sure what will happen."
