Reading's veteran Icelandic midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson has penned a new one-year deal at the Madejski Stadium.
The 34-year-old has made almost 150 appearances since joining the Royals in the summer of 2005.
He told Reading FC Player: "To get another year at Reading was obviously very much my first option and I am delighted with the new deal. It will be a pleasure to be a Reading player for another year.
Director of football Nick Hammond added: "To know that Bryn will be part of the squad next season is extremely good news.
"He is the consummate professional and, as he proved time and time again last season, his versatility makes him an absolutely crucial part of our squad."
