Free agent striker Daniel Bogdanovic has confirmed he is keen to stay in Yorkshire after leaving Barnsley.
The Malta international was released by The Tykes last week after they revealed he declined what the club described as a 'very generous offer'.
Bogdanovic never planned on leaving the Oakwell club, but after living in Sheffield for the past 18 months he is keen on staying in the area.
Sheffield United are believed to be the front-runners for the striker's services, although Championship new-boys Leeds United are also said to be in the frame.
"I wanted to stay at the club, I never said I'd leave. But I never came back to them about a contract," said Bogdanovic.
"Whatever happens now, my next club must be right for me and my family. I do enjoy living in Sheffield, so we will see what happens."
