Port Vale striker Marc Richards is hoping to sign a new contract to remain at Vale Park.
The 27-year-old netted 19 league goals to finish the season as Vale's leading goalscorer, but will be out of contract this summer.
Richards, who saw his side miss out on the League Two play-offs, is hoping a deal can be thrashed out to keep him at the club.
"I've always said I want to stay and I hope we can sort something out sooner rather than later," said Richards.
"There's been early discussions, but now the season's over and done with we can sit down and discuss things."
