Arsenal youngster Kyle Bartley is hoping he will be offered the opportunity to rejoin Sheffield United on a season-long loan.
Bartley linked up with the Blades on loan in February and has enjoyed the chance to play regular first-team football in the Championship.
He will make his final appearance in Sunday's game at Ipswich Town, but he is keen to return to Bramall Lane next season.
The 18-year-old accepts his prospects at Arsenal will be limited next term and is optimistic that Arsene Wenger will allow him to spend the year with the Blades.
Good for development
"I'm going back to Arsenal next week to carry on with my training," the defender told The Star. "I will then sit down with the gaffer and see what he has to say and what his plans are for next year.
"I definitely think there is a possibility of me coming back next year; I would be more than happy to do that. If it was a season-long-loan, I think it will be good for my development."
Bartley added: "I spoke to Arsene a few months ago and he said that he didn't think I was ready for the Premier League and I had to agree with him at that stage.
"He told me that he would assess the situation when I come back before making a decision on whether I would be ready to be in the first-team squad or not."
