Everton defender Phil Jagielka admits he still does not know why his goal against Stoke was disallowed.
The Toffees saw their European hopes ended after being held to a goalless draw by Stoke at the Britannia Stadium.
Jagielka had the ball in the net with just over 15 minutes remaining but the goal was disallowed after Victor Anichebe was adjudged to be standing in an offside position as the defender headed goalwards.
The disallowed goal cost Everton dear as it means they can no longer finish in seventh spot and Jagielka is in the dark over the decision.
"I wasn't aware [the goal had been disallowed]", Jagielka told Sky Sports. "As you can tell by my silly celebration.
"We didn't know why [the goal was ruled offside].
"We've got a couple of ideas. If it was offside, I think it's a little bit harsh, it's hard to tell if he's interfering or not."
