Bayern Munich have confirmed that Anatoliy Tymoschuk will miss Tuesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Lyon due to a stomach virus.
The Ukraine international was a substitute in Bayern's 1-0 first-leg win, but was in contention to start in a defensive role in the return meeting due to a selection headache facing boss Louis van Gaal.
Centre-backs Martin Demichelis and Daniel van Buyten both picked up knocks in the 1-1 Bundesliga draw against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday and are now doubts to face Lyon.
The duo have travelled to France, but Demichelis is struggling with a calf strain, while Van Buyten sustained a shin problem and they were substituted in the match with Monchengladbach.
Van Gaal has his fingers crossed, but has options, telling Bayern's official website: "I hope at least one of the centre-halves recovers fitness.
"Then we'll have (Holger) Badstuber, the centre-half, and (Diego) Contento on the left. I'd be happy with that."
Suspended duo Franck Ribery, sent off in the first leg, and Danijel Pranjic will also miss the match.
