Iaquinta: Juve double

Juventus' faint hopes of making Europe next season were kept alive after they dispatched Bari 3-0 at Stadio Olimpico.

The Old Lady trail fourth-placed Palmero by four points with three games remaining and it would require a big effort from Alberto Zaccheroni's team to quality, but the feat remains possible.

They did their chances no harm by taking their mid-table opponents to task, with Vincenzo Iaquinta coming off the bench to notch twice in the 53rd and 86th minute.

Alessandro Del Piero struck from the spot in between his team-mate's double, slotting home to ensure the game was beyond Bari.

Napoli wasted the chance to strengthen their chase for fourth after they could only draw 0-0 to 10-man Cagliari.

The San Paolo outfit trade places with Juve following the stalemate, slipping to seventh as Cagliari, despite having Andrea Cossu dismissed for deliberate handball, edged closer to survival.

Livorno were condemned to relegation despite beating Catania 3-1 as Bologna defeated Parma to send the bottom club crashing out of Serie A.

An eventful game turned in the strugglers' favour when Catania's Ciro Capuano saw red in the 48th minute for deliberate handball, allowing Cristiano Lucarelli to score from the spot.

Claudio Bellucci doubled the lead on the hour before Martin Bergvold sealed the points six minutes later. Gaston Maxi Lopez scored a late consolation for the away side.

Bologna's defeat of Parma, a 2-1 triumph at Renato Dall'Ara, relegated Livorno but they still have a lot of work to do to secure their top-flight status.

Things might have been different had Cristian Zaccardo not seen red six minutes after Jonathan Biabiany's opener for Parma, with Marco Di Vaio notching a brace for the hosts to seal a vital win.

Lazio moved six points clear of danger at the foot of the table after beating Genoa 2-1.

Rodrigo Palacio put the home side in front in the eighth minute, but goals from

Andre Goncalves Dias and Sergio Floccari gave Lazio the deserved lead at the break.

Salvatore Bocchetti's dismissal - awarded after he picked up two yellow cards - only moved to dampen Genoa's hopes of earning a draw.

Elsewhere, second half goals from Sergio Pellissier and Gennaro Sardo handed Chievo a 2-0 win over Fiorentina and Udinese thumped Siena 4-1 to leave their chances of survival floundering.
