Adam Johnson believes Manchester City team-mate Carlos Tevez has proved that Manchester United were wrong to allow him to leave Old Trafford last summer.
Tevez has enjoyed a superb debut season with City, scoring 28 goals in all competitions, including three strikes against his former club in their two-legged Carling Cup semi-final clash.
The Argentine was a firm fans' favourite during his time at Old Trafford before making the switch to City and Johnson believes United probably regret losing the prolific forward.
"What Carlos has done this season is to prove everybody wrong," said Johnson. "He has had his critics but when it comes down to it, football is about winning and Carlos is a winner. Probably looking at his situation now, any team would regret selling a player of his quality."
Johnson admits Tevez is itching to score the winner for City in this weekend's Manchester derby at Eastlands to all but end United's title hopes.
"I am sure Carlos would swap all of his goals this season to score the winner against United on Saturday," added Johnson.
