Hamburg striker Paolo Guerrero says he wants to apologise to the fan who he hit with a water bottle earlier in the month.
The 26-year-old Peru international has been banned for five domestic games and fined €20,000 by the German Football Federation.
The incident occurred when Guerrero retaliated after a fan had hurled abuse at him during the 0-0 draw with Hannover in the Bundesliga.
He says throwing the bottle was the biggest mistake of his career and that he wants to meet with the fan in question to apologise.
"My behaviour in the Hannover match was the biggest mistake of my life. I am still shocked when I see the footage," he told Bild newspaper.
"I still can not understand my reaction, this has never happened to me before.
"I made a mistake which will never happen again. But it is not nice either to be insulted by your own fans.
"I would like to meet the fan, apologise, give him tickets and invite him for a trip in my Ferrari.
"I want there to be more respect between players and fans."
Guerrero is still eligible for Hamburg's Europa League semi-final against Fulham, with the first leg in West London to be played on 22nd April.
