Hartlepool have been charged by the Football Association for fielding an ineligible player against Brighton.

Midfielder Gary Liddle was selected for the 2-0 victory over the Seagulls on Easter Monday when he should have been serving a two-match ban for collecting his 10th yellow card in the previous game at Leyton Orient.

Liddle, who completed 90 minutes against Brighton, has also been charged

Both he and the club have until 26th April to respond to the FA.

Hartlepool currently sit four points above the League One relegation zone in 17th place.
