Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has laughed off speculation he is set to make a £15million bid for Italy winger Simone Pepe.
Reports have claimed the Back Cats are attempting to lure the Udinese midfielder to Wearside with a club record offer this summer.
However, Bruce, speaking on the eve of his side's Premier League match with West Ham, said: "Where that one has come from, I don't know.
"I can't envisage me paying £15million for an Italian winger. That's a bit wide of the mark."
Meanwhile, Bruce has confirmed that midfielder Bolo Zenden has been offered a one-year contract extension at the Stadium of Light.
