Raul Garcia is looking forward to facing former Atletico Madrid star Fernando Torres and Liverpool in the semi-finals of the Europa League.
Torres, who helped fire Liverpool past Benfica in the quarter-finals on Thursday, left the Spanish capital, his hometown, for Anfield in 2007, but he remains a hero with fans who once watched him week in, week out.
The 26-year-old was devastated to miss the UEFA Champions League games against Atletico last season due to injury and so is now excited about a reunion with a club he still supports with affection.
After defeating domestic rivals Valencia in the last eight, Atletico are also eagerly anticipating the meeting with Torres and Liverpool.
Midfielder Garcia, who joined Atletico in the same summer that Torres left, said: "I think the team has worked very hard and we deserved the triumph (against Valencia).
"It was difficult, but we are in a European semi-final.
"Now we face the Liverpool of Torres. We are really looking forward to that tie."
