Birmingham defender Liam Ridgewell insists he is eager to agree a new contract at St Andrews following speculation over his future.
It had been suggested that the former Aston Villa player could be set to leave Blues with the club dragging their heels over a new deal.
But left-back Ridgewell, who has helped establish Alex McLeish's men in the Premier League this term following their promotion, has stated he expects a positive outcome to their ongoing discussions.
"It is frustrating, but it's not for me to be talking about," he told Sky Sports News.
"It is between myself and the club. We are trying to get it done and sorted as quickly as possible and hopefully we will have it done.
"I'm here to play football and do the best I can week-in and week-out, and hopefully I have been showing that.
"I employ my agent and he talks to the club. I speak to the gaffer, who asks how it is going, and it is going well and going smoothly and as long as it carries on, it will be great.
"I've got a contract and I am enjoying myself at a club that is doing well and hopefully we can sort it out and get a result soon."
