Serb blames injury lay-off for transfer talk

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has again denied he wants to leave the club. Speculation has circulated that Vidic is set for a close-season transfer to Real Madrid or AC Milan, with reports suggesting his wife is unsettled in England. Vidic arrived at Old Trafford in 2005 following a £7million switch from Russian outfit Spartak Moscow and has seen his stock soar under the stewardship of United boss Sir Alex Ferguson. And Vidic said he was grateful for the way the club have brought him on as a player during his time in the North West, with many regarding the Serb as one of the best defenders on the planet after winning three Premier League titles since his move. The 28-year-old has consistently refuted suggestions he wants to leave the club, and insisted he has not spoken with anyone about making a move from the current champions. Vidic told United Review: "I have never said anything about wanting to leave. The speculation has all been generated by other people. "I think one reason it went on for so long was because I was injured and didn't have many chances to speak out about the issue. But I haven't spoken to any other clubs. "United is a great club. I have had a lot of success and made a name for myself here. I appreciate all of that."
