Striker's loan spell at Carlisle cut short

Bristol Rovers have recalled striker Darryl Duffy from his loan spell at League One rivals Carlisle United. Duffy joined Carlisle on a three-month deal before the close of the January transfer window and has scored once in eight appearances for Greg Abbott's side. He has missed the last month with a hamstring injury, but was in Abbott's squad for Monday's game at promotion chasing Charlton Athletic. However, his stint with the Cumbrians has now been cut short and he may be involved in Rovers' Bank Holiday fixture at home to MK Dons. Carlisle boss Abbott told the club's official website: "This is just one of those things. "Bristol Rovers need him back and, even though we have enjoyed working with him and he has enjoyed being with us, the fact is that he is their player. "We know all about Darryl and what he can do, as we had watched him for a while even before he came here, and he's one that we'll keep an eye on."
