Hull City's injury problems show few signs of abating with Stephen Hunt and Amr Zaki still struggling.

Republic of Ireland international Hunt has a foot problem, while Egypt striker Zaki has a knee injury.

Hunt is set to have surgery at the end of the season, but the Tigers are hoping he will still play his part in their relegation battle before the need for an operation.

Winger Hunt has had injections in a bid to ease the problem with the hope that he can play some part.

"It's been a weird one, over the past month it hasn't settled down," said Tigers chief Iain Dowie.

"Injections haven't helped him in the past but he has done some bounding on it and it was hurting him.

"He will have a test on it and we hope to have him in and around the squad."

Skysports.com also understands that Hull have allowed loan striker Zaki to travel back to his native Egypt to help with his rehabilitation.

The forward has been undergoing treatment on his knee over the past few weeks and has not been able to play for over a month.

Now Zaki will seek further assistance in his homeland with the hope he will be back in the near future to help with Hull's battle against the drop.

Meanwhile, chairman Adam Pearson has denied reports that he was in talks with Geovanni to allow the Brazilian leave the club on a free transfer.

Reports over the weekend suggested that the former Manchester City midfielder would be freed to allow him to join Greek side AEK Athens.

But Pearson has denied any such talks have taken place.

"I have heard nothing regarding interest in any of our players," he said.
