Gers ace hopes for stay after reaching his century

Rangers midfielder Kevin Thomson has invited the club to offer him a new contract at Ibrox. Thomson made his 100th appearance for the club in their 4-1 hammering of Hearts on Saturday. The Scotland international has just over a year to run on his current contract and he would be happy to win an extension at the reigning champions. Though unaware he had reached the landmark, Thomson was 'proud' when told - and immediately turned his attention to bringing up a second century. "I didn't know it was my 100th appearance for the club against Hearts until after the game so it made it quite a proud day," Thomson told the Daily Record. "I would probably have played even more games had I not been so unlucky with injuries. "But I'm feeling fit and strong and looking forward to turning out in as many more as possible. "Another 100? I hope so. I only have a year left on my contract after this season so fingers crossed we can sit down and talk about things in the future."
