Defender makes loan switch

Portsmouth have agreed to send Serbia international Dusko Tosic on loan to QPR, subject to approval from the Football League. As revealed by skysports.com earlier on Thursday, QPR have agreed a loan deal until the end of the season. The former Werder Bremen defender signed for Pompey as a free agent in February only for the Premier League to initially withhold his registration because of the financial situation at Fratton Park. The 25-year-old was eventually allowed to sign on condition that he be loaned to a club in a lower division. Swansea were keen on signing the full-back, but QPR have won the race for his signature and Tosic is happy to make the move to Loftus Road. "I am delighted to be here," Tosic told QPR's official website. "All I want to do is play games and hopefully I will get that chance here with Queens Park Rangers. "I didn't want to play for any Championship team, it had to be right. I have watched a couple of QPR matches and there are some very good players here." Tosic was an unused substitute in Portsmouth's 4-1 FA Cup fifth-round win at Southampton in February, but failed to get on the pitch this season.
