Preston have signed Elliott Ward from Coventry on loan until the end of the season.
As revealed by skysports.com earlier on Tuesday, Preston boss Darren Ferguson had lined up a loan move for Ward to bolster his defence.
Ward recently spent a month at Doncaster, making six appearances for Sean O'Driscoll's side.
The central defender has dropped out-of-favour at Coventry and Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman is happy to loan him out again.
The 25-year-old will remain with the Preston until Sunday 2nd May, although he will be ineligible for North End's trip to Coventry on 17th April.
