Nadir Belhadj may be on his way to Roma at the end of the season, although his agent admits there has been no approach from the Italians.
The 27-year-old left-sided player has been linked with a move to the Giallorossi, with current club Portsmouth all but doomed to relegation from the Premier League following a nine-point deduction after entering administration.
The Algerian's agent Mark Pomorin has revealed that there has been no contact between the two clubs as yet, but that this might change in the future.
"There are many rumours about Nadir and I know these rumours about Roma but at the moment I have not heard anything definite," he told calciomercato.com.
"When a player is important, it is normal there are many requests.
"Giallorossi executives have not made themselves heard yet, but that does not mean there cannot be contact in the near future.
"But it should be asked directly to Portsmouth."
Portsmouth take on Chelsea in the league on Wednesday while Roma travel to Bologna in Serie A.
