Chris Hughton is not planning any moves into the loan market after Fitz Hall became the latest Newcastle United defender to pick up an injury.
Hall suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Bristol City and the on-loan centre-half may be sidelined for up to six weeks.
Steven Taylor is also out for several weeks, while Mike Williamson is not expected to be fit until next Monday's promotion battle with Nottingham Forest.
However, despite the problems affecting his defence, Magpies boss Hughton is not looking to bring in a player on loan ahead of Thursday's deadline.
"Loans are something we're always thinking about and toying with, but at this moment I don't see it," said Hughton.
"Fitz Hall will not be ready for next week. He felt his hamstring and we won't know until later how bad it is.
"He felt it go so we had no choice but to take him off. Normally when you take someone off it is not a great sign.
"Williamson is not far away. He still has a problem with his hand. He will have a cast on that and he will be able to play with it.
"I think at this moment we're probably looking at Forest (before he returns)."
