In-form front man decides matters in Olympiakos' favour

Matt Derbyshire made light of his Champions League disappointment in midweek to come off the bench and net Olympiakos' winner in the Athens derby against Panathinaikos. Olympiakos crashed out of Europe's premier club competition on Wednesday as they lost out to French champions Bordeaux. Derbyshire's woe was exacerbated on the hour mark when, somewhat harshly, he was sent-off after being shown a second yellow card. The talented former Blackburn striker went from zero to hero on Sunday though, as he reignited Olympiakos' title aspirations with a dramatic impact as a substitute. A frenetic affair on Sunday was decided in the 68th minute when Derbyshire reacted first after seeing his initial header saved by Alexandros Tzorvas in the Panathinaikos goal.
